Transition initiatives are local communities (cities, towns, neighborhoods) that develop ideas about how we can change our living and working in a way that we become less depend on fossil fuels. With less resources available on the earth, we are confronted with the need to reduce our energy consume and develop local economies that are sustainable and resilient.
In 2010 I was a member of a starting Transition group in Haarlem. Later I moved on to Bielefeld and to Detmold. There I was active in the local Transition group too.
I have been organising different meetings (film evenings, evenings for inspiration, talks and discussions) and I have been responsible for the website. In Bielefeld I was also active in the community garden.
